HeySA privacy policy

HeySA is a free app that lists events and places for families and adults in Adelaide, South Australia. Last updated 7 October 2026.

What we collect

Nothing is collected on a server. Your favourites, archive, filters and settings are stored on your own device.

Signing in with Google (optional)

If you choose to sign in, HeySA asks Google for your name and email address (shown in the menu so you know which account is signed in) and for access to a private app-data file in your own Google Drive. That file holds only your list of favourited and archived items so it can be shared across your devices. It is visible only to you and to HeySA running in your browser; HeySA's operator cannot see it. The app does not access any other files in your Drive.

Suggestions & help

If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply.

Location

If you allow it, your device location is used in your browser to sort places by distance. It is not stored or sent to us.

Analytics

HeySA uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the app are used, so it can be improved. This sets cookies in your browser and sends Google anonymised information such as your approximate area, device type and the pages you view. It does not include your favourites, your email address or your exact location. You can opt out by turning on "Do Not Track" in your browser or by using Google's opt-out add-on.

Sharing

We do not sell, share or send your data to anyone. The app contacts Google only when you sign in or sync, and map and event links go to their own websites.

Deleting your data

Sign out from the menu to stop syncing. To remove the synced file, visit your Google account's connected apps, choose HeySA and delete its stored data. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes the local copy.
